Remote Access to Subscribed Online Databases

This is to inform that you can now access our subscribed online databases off-campus at https://libezp.utar.edu.my

For students, please login with your Student ID number and password for student portal

For staff, please login with your username and password for Web2.


Information Skills Sessions

Patrons are encouraged to attend the following sessions which are provided to groups or on an individual basis.

  • 1. Searching UTAR Databases (1 hour)
  • 2. Searching UTAR Library OPAC (30 minutes)
  • 3. Using EndNote Web (1 hour)
             (useful for patrons who wish to collect &               organize references for citing in papers)

The following is on trial access :

1. UpToDate

UpToDate is an evidence-based, peer-reviewed information resource available via the Web. It is dedicated to synthesizing knowledge for clinicians and patients. It covers over 8,300 topics in 16 medical specialties and includes more than 97,000 pages of text, plus graphics, links to Medline abstracts, more than 385,000 references and a drug database. Over 4,400 physician authors and editors, all experts in their respective fields, write topic reviews that cover all of the major aspects of a particular condition, including symptoms, tests and diagnosis, and treatment options. UpToDate also includes treatment recommendations based on medical evidence.

The trial access is until 15 September 2010.


2. SAGE

SAGE Premier offers access to more than 550 peer-reviewed, full-text journals and over 264,000 articles, with content dating back to 1999. Content includes research journals published on behalf of more than 245 scholarly and professional societies. SAGE journals cover a wide range of subject areas, including business, humanities, social science, and science, technology, and medicine.

The trial access is until 30 September 2010.


3. IG Publishing eBooks

These humanities and social science collections are accessible via IG Publishing platform.

4. Cambridge Books Online

CBO offers access to eBooks covering subjects from all disciplines across science, technology and medicine, as well as humanities and social sciences.

The trial access is until 30 September 2010.


5. Royal Society of Chemistry

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is one of the scientific publishers, offering a range of peer-reviewed journals, magazines, books, databases and publishing services to the chemical science community.

The trial access is until 10 October 2010.
