    SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

Introduction

The materials in the special collection are located in the Special Collection Room on the 2nd floor of the Main Library at the Perak Campus. All the materials were non-circulating. They served as reference only in the Special Collection Room and should not be taken outside the Special Collection Room. For assistance to access the books please enquire at the Main Library's Reference Desk. The titles below are searchable via the UTAR library's OPAC at http://library.utar.edu.my.

Patrons can also borrow those books with the status "Open Shelf" and "Donors' Corner", if any.

A) Chinese in Southeast Asia Collection

This Chinese in Southeast Asia Collection is possibly the UTAR Library's most prized and unique collection. It includes a wide collection of early 19th century literature. This collection will serve as a gateway to materials that reflect the cultural, socio-economic and political lives of the Chinese in Southeast Asia, their challenges and triumphs as well as their contributions to their adopted countries.
